Character

CHARACTER EDUCATION 2010-2011

Starting September 1st

 

  1. To align the school with the city of Belleville’s character education efforts, Belle Valley South has adopted the city of Belleville’s Character Words of the Month.
  2. The word of the month and meaning will be on the daily announcements.
  3. Character words and information will be displayed on the website.
  4. Character words will be visible throughout building and on the marquee.
  5. Starting from the 25th of each month to the 25th of the next month (1st – 25th for September), students who have not received any noon/lunch detentions, after-school detentions (ASD), in-school suspension (ISS), or out of school suspensions (OSS), will receive a monthly pass to sit where they choose in the cafeteria, and they will participate in an activity at the end of the month, starting in September. A list of names will be given to staff and posted somewhere in the building.
  6. Students will be able to start with a clean slate every month.
  7. Students with who do not have any noon/lunch detentions, after-school detentions (ASD), in-school suspension (ISS), or out of school suspensions (OSS), will have their names announced during morning announcements.
  8. Students who make it every month (from September 1st – May), without any noon/lunch detentions, after-school detentions (ASD), in-school suspension (ISS), or out of school suspensions (OSS) will participate in a field trip in May.

 

Monthly Rewards

 

  1. September – BBQ in Courtyard, from 11am to 12:15 pm for 5th and 6th grade, from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm for 7th and 8th grade, Sept. 29th
  2. October – Movie/Snack Afternoon (the day before parent-teacher conferences) Oct. 27th, at 12:45
  3. November – Bingo/Game Afternoon (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break) Nov. 23rd ,at 12:45
  4. December – Soda/Chips/Candy in the cafeteria (distribute during lunch periods, Friday before Christmas Break) Dec. 17th
  5. January – Pizza during lunch (the day before parent-teacher conferences) Jan. 26th
  6. February - Soda/Chips/Candy in the cafeteria (distribute during lunch periods) Feb. 25th
  7. March - Bingo/Game Afternoon (the Wednesday before Spring Break) March 30th, at 12:45
  8. April - Movie/Snack Afternoon (the last Friday in the month of April) April 29th, at 12:45
  9. May – Ice Cream the last period of the day –May 17th, at 1:30
  10. May-  Field Trip- 3rd week of - TBA
