President Obama Speaks to the Nation's Students

On September 8, 2009, President Obama delivered a national address to the students of America. The president spoke directly to the nation’s children about persisting and succeeding in school. The president challenged students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning.

Each homeroom teacher was given the authority to decide whether or not the content of the speech was appropriate for content and age of the students in each specific class. Therefore, some of the children may not have had the opportunity to view his speech.
