Ms. Hatridge's Classes Hike the Dawson Trail
“There are strange things done in the midnight sun” and Miss Hatridge’s 7th grade literature classes experienced this first hand when they kicked off their poetry unit by hiking the Dawson Trail to hear the narrative poem written by Robert Service entitled "The Cremation of Sam McGee." These literature groups braved all the dangers of the Yukon Territory, and after the treacherous hike, they enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate beside a roaring fire as they listened to their tour guides recite the incredible story of Sam McGee.
