Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!
by Kathleen Goetter
Dear Parents:
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! For many of us, this school year will be exciting, yet bittersweet – it is the last year for both Belle Valley North and South. Next year, grades preK through 8 will share a beautiful new building that holds many exciting opportunities, but for those who have spent their entire teaching careers in these buildings, it will be like leaving a dear old friend! Exciting changes ahead!
Each year, schools set goals for their staff and students. The main goal for Belle Valley North staff for the coming school year is to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of the core classroom academic programs: reading, math, and writing. Along with this goal are many objectives, such as using research-based instructional strategies in the classroom, using literacy centers on a daily/weekly basis, increasing communication to parents through web articles and newsletters, conducting more family-oriented activities in the evenings, and including parents on several school-wide committees. As we accomplish each objective, we will enrich the lives of each and every student in our school!
Here’s to a wonderful (and final) year at Belle Valley North!
Yours in Education,
Kathleen Goetter
