Education and Experience

I have dedicated and committed myself to encouraging, empowering, and positively influencing the youth in Belleville, IL. Over the last four years I have been preparing to become an elementary education teacher at SWIC and McKendree University. I graduated from McKendree University on May 8, 2010, with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. During the last four years, while in school, I have been very involved with youth. I have been a summer camp director for four years, Jr. high youth group leader for four years, basketball coach for four years, mentor for three years, tutor for two years, and a student teacher for a semester.

Many individuals search their entire lives for a career they can enjoy. Some individuals never find an enjoyable career that they are satisfied with. Luckily, I have found what I truly believe is my purpose in life, and a career that will allow me to enjoy myself while carrying out my purpose. My name is Joshua Strausbaugh and I am the 7th Grade Science Teacher at Belle Valley South.  I am always busy doing what I love! I enjoy working with students of all ages and I understand that my work does not end at the end of the day. I am dedicated in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom. I am an extremely motivated individual and I am ready to embrace the responsibility and appreciate the opportunity of being a teacher at Belle Valley. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, being out in nature, and watching sports. My favorite teams are the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Bears, and the St. Louis Blues! Since I am a new teacher at Belle Valley I have also become a fan of the Belleville, IL Belle Valley Bombers… GO BOMBERS!!!
