Welcome Amy Evans

BVS Physical Education

My name is Amy Evans. I am a born and raised “Jersey Girl” – New Jersey that is. I attended George Mason University in Virginia on a softball scholarship, where I played 4 years as a catcher/ 1st basemen. My years at GMU were very productive, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication and met my husband Chris, who is a Belleville native. After graduating from GMU in 1994, we relocated back to Southern Illinois. We now have two children – Mason and Braden and a dog, Irish.

I have worked over the years for a professional sports agent, a recording studio, a furniture chain and various fitness facilities. In the spring of 2000, I decided to go back to school to study Kinesiology and earn my teaching certificate. I then attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, and graduated with my second Bachelor’s in 2005.

In my spare time, I teach aerobics, love to read and play with my children. I have also been coaching softball for 6 years. I am in my first year coaching here at Belle Valley. I am also the Head Varsity Coach at Belleville Althoff. In addition, my husband and I spend our summers coaching an 18U select team, The Metro East Ice. I am also a HUGE Philadelphia sports fan. Go Phillies, Eagles and Flyers!!!!!
